Mr. Crow
ABOUT ME AND THE COURSE
Mr. Crow is a Literacy Coach and Reading Interventionist at Paw Paw Middle School in Paw Paw, Michigan. He has had a variety of educational opportunities in his short career, including ELA classroom teacher, District Literacy and Curriculum Coach, Writing Center Director and Consultant, and Developmental Writing Instructor. Mr. Crow takes these diverse experiences into account when working in his current environment, in ways that help shape his praxis and approach to educational work. Some of the things at the core of Mr. Crow's philosophy are student-centered projects and activities, relationships, equitable practices, and critical thinking and media skills.

Mr. Crow is currently focusing on developing a course around the social movement of Climate Activism. His semester work centers on two novels, Feed by M.T. Anderson and The Marrow Thieves by Cherie Dimaline, and a collection of short, futuristic stories called Afterglow. The class will discuss the texts and their particular connections to climate change and visions of the future, conduct projects to consider climate futures, and consider potential entrance points into the social movement with the hopes of prompting future involvement.
